Factory Tour

Welcome to our Factory Tour — a behind-the-scenes look into how we bring your personalised weightlifting belts to life. This page walks you through each stage of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to the final product.

At Hit n Fit, every belt is built with precision, care, and purpose. As you scroll, you’ll see the tools, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that go into making a belt that’s not only functional but deeply personal. We’ve included real visuals from our production facility to show exactly how your custom belt is made, step by step.

1. Material Selection

The foundation of every Hit n Fit belt begins with premium-grade materials, carefully selected based on durability, comfort, and customer preference. We primarily use vegetable-tanned full-grain leather for its natural strength, long-lasting wear, and ability to mold to the user’s body with time, enhancing both support and comfort.
Each belt is crafted using multiple layers of leather, bonded and reinforced for added stiffness or flexibility depending on the belt type. We also offer a variety of material finishes such as suede, smooth leather, and printed textures.
The selection process is tailored to the customer’s design and performance needs, from choosing thickness (10mm or 13mm), type of leather, inner linings, to preferred color and texture. This custom-first approach ensures that every belt is not only functional but built to match the identity and lifting style of the athlete.

2. Cutting the Leather

Once the leather is selected, the next step is cutting it into the precise shape and dimensions required for each belt style—whether it's a lever belt, powerlifting prong belt, or classic weightlifting belt. This process is carried out using industrial-grade cutting equipment, including a heavy-duty clicker press paired with custom metal dies, to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clean edges.
Each belt is cut while carefully considering the customer’s selected size, width (3” or 4”), and thickness (10mm or 13mm). Whether it’s a small custom order or a bulk production run, our craftsmen maintain exact specifications to match the athlete’s lifting needs and body dimensions. This precision at the cutting stage lays the groundwork for a high-performance, custom-fit belt.

3. Layering and Gluing

To achieve the desired thickness, durability, and stiffness, each belt is constructed from multiple layers of high-grade leather. These layers are carefully bonded together using industrial-strength upholstery adhesive, ensuring the belt maintains its structure under intense lifting conditions.
Depending on the customer’s preferences, the outer layer may be made from smooth leather, suede, or custom-printed materials featuring names, logos, or gym branding. The inner lining is typically suede or soft leather, selected to enhance comfort and grip during wear.
This stage also prepares the belt for detailed customisation such as embroidery or digital printing, ensuring that both function and design come together seamlessly in the finished product.

4. Stitching

Once the layers are securely bonded, the belt moves to the stitching stage, where it’s sewn using industrial-grade sewing machines and heavy-duty nylon thread. This crucial step reinforces the strength of the belt, ensuring that the layers remain intact even under extreme pressure.
Most of our belts are crafted with double stitching, particularly lever and prong powerlifting belts, to enhance both durability and longevity. We pay close attention to detail—each belt is stitched with precision for a clean, professional finish.
Using high-quality thread, our stitching not only contributes to structural integrity but also complements the belt’s visual appeal, reflecting the high standards we maintain in every piece we produce.

5. Edge Finishing

The edges of the belt are then smoothed and burnished to prevent fraying and enhance user comfort. This involves careful sanding, followed by the application of edge paint for a sleek, polished look.
We ensure the edges are uniform, sealed, and comfortable against the body, adding not just aesthetic value but also ensuring long-term durability. Each belt goes through multiple passes if needed, guaranteeing a refined and professional finish.

6. Hole Punching and Hardware Installation

Precise holes are punched into the belt to accommodate the chosen fastening mechanism, such as a lever or prong buckle. The hardware is then securely attached, ensuring functionality and durability.

7. Quality Control

Each belt undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure it meets quality standards. This includes checking for material defects, verifying measurements, and testing the strength of the stitching and hardware.

8. Packaging and Shipping

Finally, the completed belt is carefully packaged to protect it during transit and shipped to the customer. Proper packaging ensures the belt arrives in pristine condition, ready for use.
